This pendant is a stylized "evil eye" amulet, believed by many cultures to ward off negativity from the wearer. Made from hand-coiled and wrapped non-tarnish silver wire, silver beads, a 12mm botswana agate bead, and 4mm black onyx beads. Amazonite is a member of the feldspars group of minerals which make up more of the earth's crust than all other known minerals combined. Associated with the zodiac sign Virgo and one of the birthstones of December, it is widely believed that Amazonite is named after the Amazonian women warriors. There is also a belief that Amazonite was named after the River Amazon.
